Samuell Karim is an abstract expressionist painter based in Svendborg, Denmark. His practice centres on large-format portraiture at the edge of recognition — the face not as representation, but as confrontation.
Working primarily in acrylic, oil, and spray across scales of two and three metres, Karim treats the canvas as a psychological field: paint arrives as gesture, mark, and erasure. The portrait dissolves, reassembles, submerges. What remains is the emotional architecture of the face — legible but never resolved.
